A friendly phone call to check you're OK, at times that suit you.
Ring Round is a check-in phone service. A friendly AI voice assistant rings older, disabled and homebound people at agreed times for a short chat to see how they are, and can pass on simple requests, like a shopping list, to vetted local helpers.
Get in touchHow it works
-
We agree the times together
You, or a family member with your agreement, tell us when you'd like a call. Nothing starts until you've said yes.
-
A short, friendly check-in call
Our AI voice assistant rings at the agreed time, asks how you are, and listens. Calls are kept short.
-
Help with simple requests
If you need something, like a few bits of shopping, the assistant notes it down. A person from our team then checks it and arranges it with a vetted local helper.
What Ring Round is, and what it isn't
What it is
- Every call says clearly that you're speaking to an AI, a computer, not a person.
- A regular, friendly welfare check-in at times you choose.
- A simple way to pass on everyday requests to vetted local helpers.
- Your choice: you can change call times or stop the calls whenever you like. Just say so.
What it isn't
- It is not an emergency service.
- It is not a medical service and does not give medical advice.
- It will never ask for your bank card details, PIN or passwords.
- It won't try to sell you anything during a call.
Don't wait for a Ring Round call. If you ever feel unwell or are in danger, call 999 straight away.
Where we are now
We're running a small, free pilot in Croydon. Interested? Get in touch.
The pilot is for a handful of people in Croydon, south London, who have agreed to take part. It helps us make sure the calls are kind, clear and genuinely useful before we offer them more widely.
